Taking the mobile experience to the next level, Globe Telecom seized the future of mobile music with the launch of GoSURF, the telco’s newest consumable mobile internet plan that offers bulk megabytes (MB) of data for mobile browsing, at the recent Wonderful World with Globe 2nd Quarter Press Round-up held at The Globe Tower in Bonifacio Global City.

Music came alive at the powerhouse event attended by over a hundred media guests, bloggers, socialites and Globe executives, highlighting the company’s exclusive partnership with Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming service with a catalogue of over 30 million songs. Spotify can be accessed for free in every GoSURF data plan, making the consumer experience truly wonderful.

Opening the launch on a high note, Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu showcased the robust performance of Globe during the first quarter of 2014, citing the strong contributions of its consumer and business segments. The chief executive also presented updates on Project Wonderful’s nation-building and culture-building pillars, where the company focused on initiating programs to rebuild schools, homes, and livelihood as well as enabling a service-oriented, customer-centric workforce to deliver a differentiated customer experience.

On the other hand, Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business Daniel Horan detailed some of the company’s newest consumer offers such as GoUNLI20 for prepaid subscribers, new Samsung Galaxy S5 in Gold and Blue colors, Tattoo Home’s Fiber-Fast home broadband offers, and Tattoo On-the-Go’s prepaid and postpaid tablet bundles with more free browsing hours and no upfront cash-out.

Finally, Globe Chief Operating Officer for International and Business Markets Gil Genio introduced various offers catering to the international and business segments, which include customizable postpaid plans for large corporations, CCTV and Globe Charge solutions for SMEs, partnership with Google to offer Google Apps for Business, and expanded coverage overseas with the establishment of a Globe office in Spain.

With GoSURF and Spotify spearheading the company’s new line-up of offers, music became the focal point of the event. Globe revealed a music-centric activity area that represented eight of the telco’s business segments with their respective flagship services. Illuminated by disco balls and party lights, each business segment provided an experiential and interactive space for the guests to learn more about the latest Globe offers while singing and dancing the night away.

The musical extravaganza was hosted by radio disc jockeys Andi9 and RikiFlo, both big fans of Spotify. Guests were surprised with a short, sweet, and uniquely original live mash-up performance of the most current hits by X-Factor Philippines’ Daddy’s Home, who was joined on-stage by beat-box rapper DJ Myke. DJ Callum David later on entertained all with the sound of wonderful while playing a set-list composed of songs requested by the crowd powered by Spotify.

With this inspiration, we celebrated the second installment of the Wonderful World with Globe Press Round-up with music as backdrop to offer our guests a wonderful experience through musically-inclined brand booths, learning sessions from Globe leaders, and performances from the country’s top artists,” shared Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business Daniel Horan.

The night ended with more fun and enjoyment as Globe raffled off spectacular prizes that will pump up the music experience such as Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones, deluxe party packages at Red Box, Sony and Bose speakers, patron tickets to Priscilla: Queen of the Desert musical, VIP patron tickets to Jessie J Live in Manila, and, the prize to top it all, a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5.
